Fins- indie band of the moment

Have you ever just found yourself endlessly searching the internet? You search one thing in Google and click the link, then see another link that interests you and click it, then another...well somehow I found these guys. Of course its another indie boy band with the cute nerdy Micheal Cera/Jessie Eissenberg look. They're called...wait for it....*dramatic silence*...FINS. Oh yeah. (If you haven't already, re-read the "oh yeah" in a deep black guy's voice.go on.)

These dudes are an indie band from Boston who combine eiree electronica synthesizers with an off-beat rhythm with added vocals of a dope lead singer. I'm shocked purely by the fact they are not viral yet...like wtf they're really good. The song above makes me seriously miss the summer, but it's cool as I can tell it'll be on my playlist for next summer. So check them out so you can tell your friends "I knew them before they were famous" and all that shizz...Oh and their logo is triangles. Guess who loves triangles?

It get's better as-well. Unbelievable I know, but all their songs can be downloaded for FREE on their website. So click right now! You wont regret it ;)
!Click here here for FINS' bandsite!

Now, I was given some 'constructive criticism' from a pro-music blogger that -quite ironically- I don't criticize enough on my band reviews, I only give good reviews which could come across as me kiss-assing the artists. Despite the fact I highly disagree and in fact the reason why I praise these bands so highly is because I think they're awesome hence why I decided to review them on my blog anyway, I shall criticize. I will always take on advice.

SO, HERE GOES MY FIRST CRITICISM:
Firstly, Fins has no twitter page (sad face)
Secondly, (if that's a word) They don't do enough gigs cause they're still in school. FANS BEFORE         EDUCATION,GUYZ (Double sad face)
Finally -and most importantly- their band merch is only one t-shirt AND IT DOESNT EVEN SHIP TO THE UK! So inconsiderate.gosh.

Although considering they've only been around for a year, they're doing bloody well.

The soundtrack of my early childhood...Rac.fm

If my early childhood was a techno song ^^THIS^ would be it. Oh, it's all coming back to me...the pixelated screens...the 8-BIT theme tunes...No matter how classy any xbox 360 may be or how sleek a  PS3 is, the Nintendo 64 will always be unbeatable.

The nostalgic feelings are running through me listening to this song...

The  memories of my 7 year old self, trying to sneak my Gameboy Advance in and out my school bag...
Pokemon, Sonic, Mario, Rayman, Earthworm Jim...good times.... Anyway, this song is bad-ass, which is no surprise since its a remix from indie-techno masters: Rac.fm

Rac.fm literally do the best remixes for indie/pop/alternative songs I know. It's the fact that they manage to do dance remixes of great songs without ruining the song or being too cheesy  making the song their own and  adding signature 'rac.fm' beats and drops. When I found their site I was overwhelmed; it was as if they'd gone into my brain, found my top 10 favorite songs and then epically remixed them to uplifting tunes.

I'm most likely the only person who does this but, sometimes, when I'm walking down the street, I tend to put on an upbeat song, start walking to the pace of the song and pretend I'm in a movie. It's stupid but it makes me smile :) These are the types of songs I'd bob along to, all Rac.fm's:

Go on, have a quick listen through them...

Beautiful isn't, it? How can one be so upbeat yet so chilled at the same time? Its beyond me...  Rac.fm isn't actually a radio station if you're wondering; its actually a group of awesome people who put together some great remixes and make gnarly songs. RAC actually stands for Remix Artist Collective and boy do they know how to remix. The group consists of three artists and he remixes are mainly done by the founder of the group, André Anjos, a really cool Portuguese dude who's has had his fair share in show business and has worked in TV (Entourage/90210/How To Make It In America) and in the film "Holy Rollers," starring Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Bartha. Do you get any cooler? I mean Jessie Essienberg.  Sorry, got a bit side-tracked. Back to the point of André Anjos, he produces some impressive songs. With help from his american amigos of course; Andrew Maury and Karl Kling, who also produce, mix and compose songs for RAC. But wait... it gets better  André also does covers of songs with his rad wife, Liz.  In conclusion, André lives the life I wish to have when i'm older: Making electronica indie remixes, touring the world, happily married to a fly partner with the same love of music and working in the same film as Jessie Eissenberg who will one day realise his uncontitional love for me...haha just joking...ha..ha..kinda...

So yeah, check their site, it's superfly...

Little comets

OK, lets set the scene. Its spring/summer 2012 (Sprummer?) and I'm sat in the living room eating cheerios mixed with coco pops -Couldn't decide between the two so had a mixture because i'm bad-ass like that. Then all of a sudden BOOM! This advert for Radox shower gel comes on. Now if your thinking "Erm...okayyy?? Were are you going with this, Not-so-anon-blogger?" Jam yo' hype and let me finish...so the advert starts playing and I'm not really aware of  the television because i'm too interested in the spectacular fusion of crackling chocolaty sensations with little O-shaped whole grain goodness in my cereal bowl, however, my attention is instantly diverted when this amazing song is played in the advert.

(To hear this energizing and intriguing song play the video above)

No song has ever- and I mean EVER- taken such a reaction out of me. I mean, usually when I hear a good song I be like "Yeah, bro this tune is keewl, I'll shazam it later or something..." but, no. Not this time. As if I had no control over my body I get up and start hipster dancing* all over my living room rug. I then rewind the advert over and over and over and-well you get the point- and I'm thinking "Thank you, Sky box for having live pause/rewind...I love you baby." Then the Sky box replies to me "Haha lol. no f u" and says "Live pause unavailable due to lack of space on disk" or something and I cant  rewind or fast forward or anything then loose the advert. The song was gone forever. I had lost it. Well until the next Radox advert would come on but I wasn't going to wait that long to be re-united with that special indie song. We had a connection. So I was stood there staring at the telly like "FUUUUUU-GOOGLE!" and run to my iPad to Google the song.

After ten whole minutes of searching (Which is a billion years of google searching time) I found the song. It was these geniuses, Little Comments. These blokes are a little indie trio from Jarrow and Newcastle upon-Tyne -No, I've never heard of it either but asuming its somewere up north England- and they are just so likable. With their unique guitar riffs and their typical indie calls, yelps and hollers, you'd be a fool not to check out their new album "Life is Elsewhere" or the album my Radox advert song came -The song turned out to be called "Dancing Song"- From the album "In Search Of Elusive Little Comets."

They may call themselves little but they've got big things in store ahead of them...

*How to Hipster Dance(In 5 easy steps)

I could explain what Hipster Dancing is but it's much easier just to show you how...
1. Stand up straight, if you're not already doing so.
2. Start bending your knees gently and frequently until your head is bobbing up and down.
3. Spread your arms out and pretend to be an airplane, tilting from side to side.
4. Rotate your arms at the same time
5. With the joint effort of bobbing your knees up and down and pretending to be an airplane with rotating arm you must finaly pull a really serious face at the same time and alas! You have mastered the Hipster dance...

Little tip
Between hipster dances or if your airplane arms get tired, try standing like a confused zombie swaying from side whilst popping your shoulders as if you're constantly being shot in the shoulder-blade. This is also a form of Hipster Dancing :)

Who actually reads blogs?

I was having of those "I've got absolutely nothing to do days" today. You know when you're dying of bordem so badly you find you are doing the utter most randomest things to occupy yourself, like trying to calculate how many tiles are on the wall or saying a word so many times over and over until it looses its meaning and sounds weird like the word "utter." utterutterutter...no? Just me? Well anyway, I was having one of these moments when I suddenly remembered this fail of a blog I made when I'd just turned 13...

To be honest, I didn't really expect myself to commit to this in the first place. It's like how most ten year-old girls are like "Oh yer!ohmygerd i'm sooo gunna write a diary...hehe ok here we go...'Dear Diary...' actually forget this i'm bored," and then never picks up that diary again. I mean, its the same for half the people that start blogs. Ok, maybe I'm being quite mean about this blog thingy or whatever exactly this is but in all honesty it's quite cringe-worthy looking back on how exited I became when I was making this thing. There was somewhat a part of me that expected this to miraculously  become a hit over night. I don't know...do people even read blogs anymore?

Who needs them? We have twitter and tumblr...leave the blogging to yummy mummys posting "creative" recipes and...well... failed journalists. Sad stereotype, I know, but In all honesty I don't know a single person my age who actually reads blogs. Apart from me. Which is pretty sad. Anyhoo, I read over my two previous posts- frequently facepalming- when suddenly I realized something; doing this made me happy. I didn't care that nearly nobody was reading this, I was just proud of  my work. The suspense that someone, somewhere would view my page exited me despite the fact that my blog only got, like, two views a week.

Finally, about ten minutes before writing this post,I realized  I'm going to do this for me. Cheesy, I know. Of course blogs are pointless if there's no reader but i'll never enjoy it if I'm just trying to impress people. So yeah, just thought you should know that. Yes you! My dear person who might be reading this. I'm thinking of YOU. Right now. Wondering who you may be, were you may be. I suppose I'm actually kinda glad loads of people don't read this, it saves the pressure and embarrassment. I'm just glad I'm going to continue this for me...

Tokyo Police Club

okay,i lied, i said that i was doing reviews on up and coming bands.well,i think that tokyo police club has alredy made it!well,in the US and canada, anyway.however,in -my hometown-london, i guess they could do with a lot more popularity! lets beggin:

TOKYO POLICE CLUB is a canadian indie band made up by four awesome dudes who go by the name of DAVID MONKS-bass and singer,GREG ASLOP-drummer,GRAHAM WRIGHT-keyboardist and JOSH HOOK-guitarist.

formed in 2005 (in a basement, just playing for fun,)TOKYO POLICE CLUB are an engergetic band wich -no matter what mood you were in- after listening to just any one of thier tracks, they get you pumped and give you the feeling  that you can take on anything.

for example,my personal favourite "wait up (boots of danger)" is a fantastic song from thier album "champ" wich i usually listen to before i go skatepark. And you know the big ramp, and i'm not talking that biggish ramp, but i'm talking about the HUGE ramp.yes the one locals call the death ramp and its the very same ramp on wich "jimmy no legs" lost his legs 20 years ago. well after listening to "wait up (boots of danger)" i go on that ramp and it feels like a little hill to me.that is untill i'm nearly at the bottom of the ramp and i start having second thoughts! but, anyway,my point is that Tokyo Police Club are so good that they can accualy change your mood..thats the affect their music has!

so for all you indie lovers or peeps who wanna listen to something new, join the tokyo police club and get one of their three albums "a lesson in crime","elephant shell"or "champ" and i can nearly garantee it will be worth it! heck, buy all three of thier albums if you  wanna. young, fresh and canadian.what more could you ask for from an indie band?

intro

Here is an intro to the Feel the bass drop:

(this is my first time on doing stuff like this so give me a break)

This is a blog that does the ultimate reviews on up an coming bands, artists and anything else which produces good music or is worthy to be on this site. It's occurred to me that there are a heck load of boybands and singers in the charts making millions who -to be honest- aren't talented at all and there are a heck load of bands and singers who are AMAZING and just haven't made it...yet...so if you wish to hear something that's fresh, something new or your just plain bored with your regular playlist on your ipod then you've come to the right place...
